Servus!
I’ve not written anything here in quite some time and was inspired by a girl from my course who writes a fantastic blog site to write… something. So here I am, writing from the mysterious lands of Tyrol, Austria. I have moved again.
I began university again in September 2017 and I am currently studying my second semester abroad here in Austria. And let me tell you, I was concerned with what on earth I could eat in Austria, a country well-known for meats and cheeses. These concerns, however, turned out to be somewhat false – especially now that I am beginning to learn some German food labels!
On my first day here I walked into a Spar (which are actually very fancy shops, unlike the UK) and encountered a plethora of vegan goodies of all varieties. I was very excited. I also found this incredible burger place called HANS IM GLÜCK which offers about 4 different vegan burgers. They’re to die for, not to mention the sweet potato chips. 10/10
Yes, some more traditional places and generic restaurants, alike the UK, are tricky to find vegan options in, but overall I think, to my surprise, that Austria is in fact better for vegans than the UK. So, fear not mountain vegans! I’ll attach some delicious photos of my findings for reference. I appologise in advance for the poor quality photos, I’m a little awkward when taking photos of my food.
